CIANJUR - A resident who was previously listed as missing, was found dead by a joint team today Thursday (24/11).

"Today one body was found. 272 ​​died, 165 have been identified by name by address, 107 bodies are still being identified. 2,046 people were injured, 62,545 people were displaced," said Suharyanto when delivering the press report at the Cianjur Regent's workplace, Thursday (24/11).


He added that there were still missing victims in one village area due to being buried by landslides that occurred after the earthquake.


"39 victims were missing in Cijedil, Cugenang District due to landslides, seven of them were people passing by and there were eyewitnesses who saw them," he explained.


"The names and addresses of these 39 souls have been identified," he continued.


Data collection is still ongoing for material losses, reports from villages and sub-district heads go directly to the primary post.


"A total of 56,311 houses were damaged, 22,267 units seriously damaged, 11,836 moderately damaged units and 22,208 lightly damaged units. This data will be verified regarding the specifications for the category of damaged houses," said Suharyanto.


"BNPB has an element of command but those who take part are all ministries, forums, the Indonesian Armed Forces/Police and volunteers," he said.


"We continue to record other elements involved in handling the disaster, 333 organizations and 4,674 personnel from community organizations, and volunteers involved, have distributed their respective tasks," added Suharyanto.


Suharyanto, who once served as the Military Commander of Brawijaya, hopes that the disaster location is not a tourist area, so if he doesn't help with the handling, he is expected not to come.


"For people who have no interest, disasters are not for review, not tourist attractions, but something that must be solved together, the Police and Kodim to act decisively in a humane manner to provide explanations to residents so as not to interfere with disaster management," he said.
